5 Effective Strategies for Life that You Can Apply Today #elleeyre #livinglifeempowered

Everyone has a pattern for processing experiences that effect choices and results in life. Gaining a clear understanding of our own patterns helps us to become effective communicators and gives us an advantage in our decision making.  Increasing positive results in life is simple when we have strategies to handle the seemingly random circumstances life brings and enhances our effectiveness in the world.  By applying basic principles of self evaluation and assessment we have the ability to increases our efficiency in processing minor and major events.

Having a strategy for handling events on constructive autopilot is powerful.  To create change in our lives these strategies are essential.  Much of how we respond, or react, to life comes from the experiences we have had in our families. Parents teach their children through the example of the way they handle situations and how they behave in their varying relationships. As children grow into adulthood they often find that the ways they handle relationships with people, as well as health, education, and world are a result of autopilot connections from problem to solution that were modeled by their parents, teachers, and friends. When there is a breakdown in the effectiveness of these automatic responses it is essential that we recognize our limitations and learn effective decision making skills.

New science has taken us far beyond the traditional decision making process. Gone are the days of where the only information we had to resolve lack of effective thinking and feeling was through psychoanalysis by a professional or through mind and mood altering medications. Today, new thought has made available solutions that are self-responsible and non-evasive. We understand behavioral pattern, the power of the imagination, and the importance of being self aware.  The new information tells us that we have the power to effect great change by simple changing our mind about situations and how we feel about them. New science has brought ancient healing methods to us in a way that we are taught to trust through the application of the scientific process.

The final element that ignites change through these methods is human will.  We have become a society of immediate results, fast food, and conveniences that make the mastery of the mind, emotions, and body appear to be complicated and difficult. It is so much easier to pop a pill or blame someone else than it is to assess ones own self and create effective positive change. Yet we are bewildered and surprised when events repeat themselves.  It can easily be compared to the surprise one might experience when they realize they have reached an unhealthy weight when they have not practiced habits that reveal healthy results.

Five efective strategies that you can apply today include:

  1. Simple awareness of thoughts and emotions.
  2. Mapping behavior and desired behavior provides you with a clear picture from which you can create your strategy.
  3. Taking inventory of recent events with the thoughts, feelings and actions took in relationship to these events increases awareness of patterned behavior.
  4. Creating a list that compares and contrasts the results of these thoughts, feelings and actions into two columns, working and not working, builds awareness of how your behavior affects the results of these choices.
  5. Defining the desired results and allowing the experience to flow through your imagination as if it is already so provides a foundation for clear and clean intention in integrity to your desired outcome.  If you have never experienced similar circumstances that resulted in the desired state then use your imagination to model your ideal outcome, mapping it over to your life.
It may appear that this strategy is simple seeming to minimize your current situation. However, by defining periods of time for which to see measurable results soon what seemed overwhelming is eaten away one day at a time.

I Am.

The next natural step after evaluating how you feel about an event is to create something from it. We are continually creating from moment to moment to moment. My experience in coaching with hundreds of clients is that there is a natural and simple order to making sense of the events of our life and that when we know what that order is it empowers us, we become effective, efficient creators of our own lives, and we find joy and live passionately. The innate creator inside of us takes chaos, evaluates it, intends a new creation and then creates something new. When we create unconsciously, we create stories, judgments and beliefs about ourselves that can cause us to feel unresolved and can result in a recreation of the event repeatedly until we reach resolution. When we create consciously, we are open and aware that experiences create opportunities for us to find and fulfill our purpose and empower us to create our lives with joy and passion.

Einstein says, “In order to solve a problem you have to go one level above the thinking that created the problem.” Evaluated properly, how an event affected us reveals clues to our true self. When we connect to our true self, our choices change organically to match our vibration, and we begin to attract circumstances to live from our higher selves. I like to use the metaphor of a car accident because there are so many that can relate the feelings or can imagine how it must feel to have been the giver or receiver of a car crash. Let us imagine for a moment you have recently been in a moderate car accident. What are some of the things you feel at the time of the accident? What are some of the things you hear on your internal recording? What do you begin to say about yourself? Most who have shared this metaphor with me express that they feel badly about the accident, mainly for the other person. When considering the messages heard on the internal recording the most given answer is, “I am a bad driver.” At this moment a belief is being formed from which choices are made and creation begins. This is the point to stop, look and listen to the clues these feeling give you about your true identity that can alter your belief and the resulting creation. What is your positive intent for feeling badly for yourself and others? What does concern for the wellbeing of yourself and others tell you about your true self? Compassion, love, and kindness are some of the divine characteristics that come to mind. Here is an opportunity for you to choose to believe that you are a “bad driver” and go out creating that you are a bad driver repeatedly as the universe supports your beliefs by matching the “bad driver” vibration. On the other hand, you could choose to believe that you are compassionate, loving, and kind and create that repeatedly as the universe delivers up events that match the vibration of compassion, love, and kindness. Because your level of thinking has increased, your thought, emotion, and physical vibrations have also increased, and you receive opportunities to live from your higher self.

There is a positive intent for all that happens in our world. I feel that by becoming the observer to our lives we become more objective and balance is easy and effortless to have. Slowing our processing down allow us to consciously make new choices that will override old ones that are not working. Our physical, mental and emotional self are tuned into vibrations based on our beliefs about yourself, others and the world. We are receiving matching circumstances and events like a radio waves are tuned in from a car stereo.

I invite you to take a moment as the observer of your creation (world) to stop, look and listen to the feedback you are receiving, consider your desires and ask yourself what is working and what is not working? (You might want to grab a paper and pen this is good stuff). Stop, look and listen for underutilized resources that you already have available to you in the way of talents, skills, divine characteristics. Stop, look, and listen to your internal belief system. What beliefs or thinking habits are attracting events and circumstances to you that you do not like? What is on your internal recording that is incongruent with your desires? What do you feel your mission or purpose is and what is working or not working for you to accomplish this mission or purpose? How do the changes in your world affect others? How would you like it to affect others?

Just like learning to drive a stick this gets easier as you create new neural pathways by practicing this new thought process. Just imagine the results of you making a simple change to the way you respond to your world. Imagine as you wake up tomorrow morning and the alarm goes off how good it will feel to know that you are in charge of your life that no matter what happens you get to say how you allow it to change your world. Imagine as you work through your week how much different your relationships are at work, at home and at play as you choose your results through your feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Imagine how much balance, ease and effortlessness you will notice as you move through each day. Just imagine.

Breath Awareness

Here is a little exerpt from week one of the BiG LYFE Design workshop. In my experience one of the simplest ways to bring more peace into life it to breath. Breathing deeply relaxes the body, clears the mind, and slows the pace of a hectic life. Enjoy the process, feel free to print this off and use it at your convenience, and remember... just breathe.

Breath Awareness

Oxygen plays a vital role in a properly functioning system, it turns fat into carbon dioxide that we release as we exhale and water that supports the hydration of organs and tissues. Our stressful lives keep us in a continuous fight or flight mode promoting quick chest respiration that comes in handy for emergencies. Deep breathing reduces stress on the body telling the brain to return all systems to normal. Breath is also symbolic of accepting, allowing, and gratitude for the gift of life. To retrain yourself to breathe deeply take a moment to discover how you are using breath then practice the continuous breathing exercise that follows.

Do you hold your breath for any length of time? If so, how long?

Do you hold your breath in certain situations? If so, when? Describe the situations and the feelings associated with those feelings.

Do you fully inhale when you are accepting a breath? If not, why?

Do you fully exhale when you let go of a breath? If not, why?

What do you expect from the breath?

What do you receive with each breath?

What do you release with each breath?

When do you expect to accept breath fully?

When do you expect to let go of breath fully?

Continuous Breathing (1-2 minutes)
Imagine in your mind, a vast ocean. See the ocean ebbing and flowing in a soothing rocking motion. Listen to the sound the water makes as it moves onto the beach and then retreats to itself again. Feel the rhythm of the water as it moves, rocking you back and forth, back and forth. Now match your breathing to this rhythm, breathing in and out through your mouth, fully expanding and contracting the diaphragm. Place the index and middle fingers of one hand at the base of the sternum and press in one half inch. Feel the diaphragm as it presses against the fingers, pushing out on them. Continue practicing this breath for a few minutes and use this breath throughout each of the meditations in this section.

Here’s the Skinny…

What was your experience with breathing deep into your belly? What did you feel? Were you able to allow your belly to relax fully? What did you notice in your body as you practice this breath? How did you feel after you were finished with the exercise?
